Byd Han DM-i, Han DM-P and Han EV, who is your dish?

BYD has been digging deep into the field of new energy vehicles for many years, and has also established a mature hybrid and pure electric technology platform. It can be said that both hands are hard to grasp. Judging from the market feedback, BYD Song Plus DM-i and other hybrid series models are now hard to find a car, and the car picking cycle is basically three months or even longer, and the sales of pure electric vehicles are also rising sharply year after year.

Being recognized by the market is naturally inseparable from product advantages, but BYD’s product line is too long and too wide, which is really complicated for many consumers. For example, Han DM-i, Han DM-p and Han EV have made many people feel difficult. I don’t know how to choose. Today, let’s have a brief talk and give you a choice suggestion.

Model price:

BYD Han DM-i is in the pre-sale period, and the prices of the four pre-sale models are: 216,800 yuan for the 121km distinguished model, 226,800 yuan for the 121km distinguished model, 236,800 yuan for the 121km exclusive model and 292,800 yuan for the 242km flagship model.

The pre-sale price of BYD Han DM-p 202km four-wheel drive flagship model is 322,800 yuan. At present, there is only one pre-sale model, and it is not known whether the number of models will increase after the official listing.

BYD Han EV is selling four models, and the market guidance prices are: 506km standard endurance luxury model 214,800 yuan, 605km long endurance luxury model 234,800 yuan, 605km long endurance premium model 260,800 yuan, and 550km four-wheel drive high-performance flagship model 284,500 yuan.

From the pricing, we can find that the price of hybrid version and electric version is highly overlapping, which is also the key reason for consumers’ difficulty in choosing. Let’s go on to talk about other product features.

Power system:

Whether it is a hybrid or a pure electric vehicle, the powertrain is the most noteworthy product point.

BYD Han DM-i comes standard with a 1.5T fuel engine, with a maximum horsepower of 139 horsepower and a peak torque of 231 Nm. The motor has the difference of high and low power, such as the 145kW permanent magnet synchronous motor carried by BYD Han DM-i 121km model; Han DM-i 242km flagship 160kW permanent magnet synchronous motor.

Although the power is different, the acceleration time of 100 kilometers given by the manufacturer is 7.9 seconds. Because the battery density of BYD Han DM-i 242km flagship model is higher (37.5kWh), it does not get faster acceleration ability on the basis of higher power.

BYD Han DM-p is equipped with the same 1.5T fuel engine, which matches the dual permanent magnet synchronous motors with the front 160kW and the rear 200kW. The comprehensive torque of the motor is 675 Nm, and it only takes 3.7 seconds to match the acceleration of electric four-wheel drive for 100 kilometers, ranking among the high-performance vehicles.

To sum up, between BYD Han DM-i and Han DM-p, the selection criterion lies in the performance requirements. For most working-class people, I prefer to recommend BYD Han DM-i, on the one hand, the price is more close to the people, on the other hand, the fuel consumption is relatively low, and Han DM-p is suitable for middle-and high-income consumers who pursue high performance and are willing to support domestic cars.

After talking about plug-in hybrid models, let’s take a look at BYD Han EV pure electric models. The standard version and the long battery life version are equipped with a 163kW permanent magnet synchronous motor, and the acceleration per 100 kilometers is 7.9 seconds; The four-wheel drive high-performance flagship model is equipped with dual motors of 163kW and 200kW, and the acceleration of 100 km is 3.9 seconds.

Simply from the performance point of view, BYD Han EV is also highly overlapped with Han DM-i and Han DM-p, so we should also pay attention to the endurance of the three cars.

Endurance performance:

BYD Han DM-i has a pure electric cruising range of 121km and 242km respectively. If you live in a small city or have a small daily travel radius, it is recommended to choose the 121km cruising range, which is enough to meet the three-day travel demand. If you live in a congested first-and second-tier city, or the daily travel radius is relatively large, then it is better to choose the 242km endurance version. As for the actual choice, it depends on personal preferences and budget.

From the point of view of fuel consumption, the fuel tank volume of BYD Han DM-i is 50L, the minimum state-of-charge fuel consumption of 121km version is 4.2L, and the minimum state-of-charge fuel consumption of 242km version is 4.5L. A tank of oil can last more than 1000km, so there is no need to worry about fuel consumption during long-distance travel. It needs to be emphasized here that I personally haven’t tested the Bidia Han DM-i, but I drove the Song Plus DM-i on National Highway 318 for a few days last year, and the actual fuel consumption per 100 kilometers was 4.1L, which was lower than the 4.5L given by the manufacturer. Therefore, it can be predicted that the actual cruising range of BYD Han DM-i will have similar performance.

The minimum fuel consumption of BYD Han DM-p is 4.5L, and the fuel tank volume is 50L, which can also reach the endurance of nearly 1000km, giving full consideration to performance and fuel economy. If the budget allows, I personally prefer to recommend Han DM-P. After all, the 100-kilometer acceleration of 3.7 seconds has reached the super-run level, and the landing price of more than 300,000 yuan is worth it.

The cruising range of BYD Han EV is 506km, 550km and 605km, and it takes 0.42 hours to charge 80% of the battery quickly.

Model recommendation:

Byd Han’s three series models have maintained a high level of configuration, and there is a small difference in the number of configurations between the models. The whole system comes standard with front and rear parking radar, 360-degree panoramic image, adaptive cruise, active safety system, four driving modes, NFC/RFID key, remote start, built-in driving recorder, wireless charging of front mobile phone, voice control, OTA upgrade, car networking, LED light group, automatic air conditioning in zones, air purification and other systems. Even the lowest-equipped model can meet daily household needs well, which is also one of the reasons for the difficulty in choosing, so we recommend a specific model to you through the configuration.

BYD Han DM-i 121 km distinguished model, with a pre-sale price of 226,800 yuan.

Recommended index: five stars

Highlight: The distinguished model is 10,000 yuan cheaper than the exclusive model, and there are only two items missing in the configuration: leather seats and multi-color atmosphere lights. BYD’s imitation leather material is not much worse in touch and texture than its leather, and the color change utilization rate of the atmosphere lights is not very high. In addition, the distinguished model is also equipped with a 12-speaker Dana stereo, which is a very cost-effective configuration, so it is more cost-effective than the distinguished model of 216,800 yuan, which is expensive and valuable.

BYD Han EV 605 Super Long Life Edition Luxury Model, with a guide price of 234,800 yuan.

Recommended index: five stars

Recommended reason: The cruising range of pure electric vehicles is not as stable as that of hybrid vehicles, and the choice direction should be long rather than short. The 605km long-range version is more reassuring to use. The luxury version of the long-range version is 26,000 yuan cheaper than the distinguished version, and the configuration lacks parallel assistance, reversing side warning and automatic parking. These three configurations are better, and it doesn’t matter if there is no one, because the luxury version has a 360-degree panoramic image, full-speed adaptive cruising and parking.

Automatic parking is helpful for novices, but it is a bit of a chicken rib for old drivers. Because the parking speed is slow, it is better to operate it yourself. The rest of the driver’s seat memory function, 220/230V external power supply and multi-color atmosphere lights are also better than nothing, which will not bring much improvement to the daily experience. If you just need them, you can choose them. If you don’t, it is still recommended to save this 26,000 yuan.

The pre-sale price of BYD Han DM-P four-wheel drive flagship model is 322,800 yuan.

Recommended index: four stars

I secretly think that Han DM-p is the performance version of DM-i, and there is a high probability that it will not increase the number of models after listing. This car’s acceleration ability is really dazzling, but in the daily car scene, the 3.7-second acceleration ability is not very widely applicable. Moreover, BYD Han DM-p is a medium and large family car after all, and it is not suitable for going to the track and brushing laps, but its performance has a strong temptation for men, if you really need to come once in a while.

Summary:

The above-mentioned vehicle recommendation is only based on the practicality of configuration. In fact, BYD Han’s three series have a total of nine vehicles (DM-i 4, EV 4 and DM-p 1), and the cost performance is basically at the same level. There is no obvious difference between high and low, and there is no concept of who is more worth buying. So I will give you another suggestion, that is, try to choose vehicles with high configuration or long battery life within your own budget, so that you can get a fuller car experience.

In addition to the highlights of BYD Han’s products such as power, battery life and configuration, its blade battery stability, intelligent vehicle, active and passive safety and other aspects are also remarkable. Because of space constraints, I won’t go into details one by one. If you want to know more about BYD Han’s product features, please ask questions in the comments section. Finally, thank you for reading.
